With the closing of the recent 22nd European Scout Conference, the mandate of the outgoing European Scout Committee came to an end. Below, you find a message of Thank you from Andrea Demarmels, Chairperson of the Committee during the triennium 2013-2016.

Dear Friends in Scouting,

My time as Chairperson of the European Scout Committee has come to its constitutional end; therefore I wish to share with you my gratitude for what you all did and are still doing for the benefit of Scouting in Europe and beyond.

Thank you for the great support during these three years I served as Chairperson of the European Scout Region.

Scouting is an educational movement firmly rooted in the principles laid down by Robert Baden-Powell and expressed in the Scout Promise and Law which every Scout refers to while doing her or his best in “trying to leave this world a little better than she or he found it”.

I trust that like me you enjoyed and still will enjoy your time in Scouting, having many happy memories of the service that you are giving in helping to ‘create a better world’.

I very much hope that we will have the opportunity to meet again.

Andrea Demarmels
