German Scouts Invite to Green Future Seminar 2013 “Network for the Environment”

(DPSG/Westernohe) – Nature and the environment have been core elements of Scouting since it’s beginning: camping, hiking, mountaineering, out-door games, and many other typical Scouting activies. A wide range of things Scouting is associated with is taking place outside. But…

– How much do Scouts really know about the environment they use for their activities?
– Is the protection of nature just a lip service or indeed one of the objectives?
– Are there any innovative projects to reduce negative impact on the climate and weather?
– Do Scout Associations implement the World Scout Environmental Programme and what experience did they gain?
– How can Scouts influence the environmental legislation processes in their countries and on European level?

DPSG’s SCENES Scout Centre Westernohe

These are just a few questions DPSG, one of the National Scout Associations in Germany, is trying to find answers to. And that’s why they are organising an international seminar on “Green Future – Networking fro the Environment” at their SCENES Centre in Westernohe (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) this coming August.
