As announced in the occasion of the European regional meeting “Volunteering in youth NGOs: Citizens in Action” held in March in Istanbul, The Scout Association of Croatia is preparing National EYV celebration, which will take a part from June 10th to 12th.
The celebration will consist of two main events:
Roundtable “Possibilities for improvement of volunteering in NGOs (10th June)
Partner and host: Ministry of Family, Veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity
National event and national Scout gathering “Together for Community(11th-12th June)
Partner: Bistra Local Community
The aim of these events is to raise public awareness about volunteering and to make volunteer contribution in community developement more visible. Events are organized under the patronage of the Croatian Government and Ministry of Family, Veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity.

Furthermore, at the national level, representatives of The Scout Association of Croatia actively participate in the official National Comitee for celebration of EYV, which formed an official EYV Calendar consisting of 6 events, one of which is National Gathering “Together for Community“.

Croatian Scouts are coordinating another official activity – Improvement of conditions for volunteering with children and youth. This activity is planned for october/november, and will include consultations with other NGOs working with children and youth, conferences, roundtables…

Finally, Croatian Scouts are equally active in National Board for Development of Volunteer Work, a consultative body which gather both Governament and NGO representatives, with task to suggest measures and plans for improvement of volunteering in Croatia.
