Volunteering

2011 is the European Year of Volunteering and we know that many NSOs/NSAs are excited about the potential of this special year to recognise, recruit and motivate volunteering in general and in Scouting in particular.

By 30 September 2013, we will have:

  • Created more opportunities for adults to volunteer in Scouting
  • Stimulated the development of legislation that is supportive towards volunteering generally and Scouting in particular
  • Contributed to the European Year of Volunteering 2011
  • Recruited, welcomed and retained adult volunteers through effective management of human capital
  • Focussed on the benefits of personal development and the need for self-recognition
  • Promoted the recognition of the value of volunteering in Scouting, both internally and externally

The European Scout Region’s Volunteering Working Group is comprised of the following people:

  • Pavel Trantina
  • Roberta Vincini
  • Jukka Tulivuori
  • Claude Frantzen
  • Jo Deman

They are supported by Christian Loste from the European Scout Committee as well as José Figueira and Nicolo Pranzini from the World Scout Bureau – European Regional Office.
