Embracing Change

The only constant in life is change. In a rapidly progressing world with dramatic social change and technical innovation, Scouting is faced with opportunities and threats. Scouting should continue to be ready to anticipate change and react accordingly.

By 30 September 2013, we will have:

  • Encouraged the monitoring of membership composition and comparison with population data
  • Developed approaches to include young people and adult volunteers from different backgrounds
  • Explored the impact and potential of communications technologies in Scouting
  • Encouraged the acquisition, consolidation and protection of adequate resources
  • Promoted the development and implementation of equality and diversity policies
  • Identified approaches to continually meet the challenge of change

The European Scout Region's Embracing Change Working Group is comprised of the following people:

  • Therese Zimkowsky
  • Jordi Ferrer
  • Ib Jammer
  • Kevin Camilleri
  • Radu Seuche

They are supported by Christos Hatzidiamandis from the European Scout Committee as well as Rose-Marie Henny and Mihajlo Atanackovic from the World Scout Bureau - European Regional Office.
