CNGEI GSATAfter a long and thorough preparation, CNGEI – the open NSA in Italy – took on the WOSM Global Support Assessment Tool.

An assessor and a facilitator of the European Scout Region interviewed some key leaders from CNGEI (the President, the Chief Scout, the Treasurer and the Chief Commissioner), analysing the NSA through 91 questions and evaluate it under several dimensions: governance, financial structure, educational and training programmes, risk management, and communication. That crucial work has been useful to determine how far CNGEI is located from NGOs international standards, which are the strengths and weaknesses of the Association.

Thanks to the WOSM collaboration, the National Board and International team support, an efficient and complete (2 full days!) test has been delivered, quickly overviewing the first results, among which the NSA shined in the “NSO-WOSM Institutional Requirements” dimension.

CNGEI GSAT 1In order to tackle as actor new challenges for youth in Italy and worldwide, in the next couple of months, CNGEI and WOSM will jointly focus on drafting a planning to renew the NSA structure and educational programmes, following the new association governance and strategy approved at the last National Assembly.

We do hope every NSO and NSA will take the GSAT on, being a precious help to the association growth!
