GSAT photoWorld Scouting is happy to announce that the GSAT Self-Assessment guidelines for NSOs are now available. GSAT (Global Support Assessment Tool) is a Quality Standard owned by WOSM that assesses compliance of a NSO towards international best practices in Good Governance and Quality Scouting.

The Self-Assessment version of the GSAT allows NSOs to use the tool on their own, to evaluate internally the performance of their organisation vis-à-vis international best practices. The evaluation can either focus on all 10 Dimensions of the GSAT, or a selection of dimensions depending on the needs of the NSO. Guidelines were developed to provide NSOs with background on Scope, Recommended Process, Scoring Method and Next Steps for a GSAT Self-Assessment.

The guidelines are a starting point for you to make your NSO or NSA stronger. The European Scout Region through its Organisational Development Core Group is happy to support you in understanding the tool and to train you in how to use it. And through tailored support we are also ready to support you in any action you want to take based on the assessment results.

You can download the GSAT self-assessment from WOSM’s website at www.scout.org/gsat – scroll down to “self-assessment” at the bottom of the page to download the necessary materials.

If you need any support from one of our trained and motivated GSAT facilitators, please refer to your committee contact or approach the European Regional Office (europe@scout.org).
