GSAT AEP - photo(AEP/Lisbon) – This weekend, the Associação dos Escoteiros de Portugal (AEP, one of the two National Scout Associations in Portugal) assessed its performance using WOSM’s Global Support Assessment Tool (GSAT).

The association actively participated in the process by going through the ten dimensions of the assessment and reflected on the findings from the process. The two days were filled with quality discussions and reflections proved to be very beneficial for AEP and helped in creating steps for future improvement.

Following the assessment of the different dimensions, which included the governance framework, growth potential, integrity management, the association received outputs which will be helpful in improving both its strategic planning and its day to day operations.

“The results of the assessment in the ten dimensions will enable the association to improve its performance and will give essential inputs in the preparation of its new strategy.  Additionally, the assessment will provide clear information for the new National Board that should be elected in the following period,” summarised José Araujo, Chief Scout of Associação dos Escoteiros de Portugal, the exercise.
