(Geneva/WOSM) – WOSM’s Messengers of Peace Project was introduced a year ago at the World Scout Conference in Brazil and officially launched last September in Saudi Arabia (see our article). Over twenty projects are currently being implemented around the world and contribute to creating a better world in different ways (check out the Messengers of Peace website for regular updates).

Completing a Messengers of Peace Project Form

Your local Scout Group, District, Region or National Scout Organisation has a peace project and needs support? Then now is the time to react. Because this year’s project funding is now available from the Messengers of Peace Support Fund. All you need is carefully read the guidance documents and complete the MoP Application Form, both of which you can find on the website of WOSM.

The European Region is eagerly awaiting your application and looking forward to exciting project proposals as well as stories about your activities. Projects with budgets up to USD 25’000 will be selected for funding by a Regional Decision Committee based on specific criteria, such as the subject area, the number of beneficiaries, the impact and outcome. If you envisage a larger project with a budget above USD 25’000 a Joint Executive Committee will determine whether or not your project will receive funding.

On Baden-Powell’s 155th birthday, 22 February 2012, the Messengers of Peace Project Team at the World Scout Bureau’s Central Office will be launching its monthly electronic newsletter, which will feature important updates, project developments and other related stories. Online subscription will be possible through the Messengers of Peace website.
