“Kurioses, nutzloses oder einfach interessantes Pfadfinderwissen” is the title of an interesting website initiated by an Austria Scout. Set up less than 18 months ago, the site has rapidly convinced more than 2’500 ‘followers’ and ‘friends’ who appear to have one thing in common: they all share the initiator’s interest in discovering and sharing of “Odd, useless or simply interesting details about Scouting”.

Be it a “Who’s Who” of current or former VIPs in Scouting or Guiding, be it historic details about the Founder and his family, or be it other rarities and curiosities more or less linked to yesterday’s , today’s or tomorrow’s Scouting.

“The page aims at sharing any gossip or other curious news relevant to Scouting and Guiding with as many Scouts and Guides around the world d as possible. That’s why we are currently using a major social networking platform,”  explains the website’s editor, adding that a proper website will shortly be launched (www.nutzlosespfadiwissen.at). In small bits and pieces, so that one can show off with astonishing knowledge at the group’s or patrol’s next meeting.

The cabinet of curiosities is just a ‘click‘ away and always worth a visit…
