Scouts on the Algerian national TV shooting

Today the 9th Euro-Arab meeting has been officially opened in the Algerian capital of Algiers.

Participants from 20 different countries meet to share their ideas about the development of youth empowerment and active citizenship and the important role Scouting can play in this respect. Various presentations,

workshops and discussions help participants to share their views, their own experiences and good practices. The event is kindly hosted by the Algerian Muslim Scouts.

On May 24, the meeting and the impact of Scouting in society were the subject of a 90 minutes TV programme, broadcasted live from the national training centre of the Algerian Muslim Scouts.

Participants represent the National Scout Organizations of Algeria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Mauretania, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian Authority, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Sudan, Tunisia, and the UK. The Arab and European Scout Regions are represented by members of the Regional Committees, Regional Staff and Regional volunteers.

The meeting will close on May 27 with the signing of the official declaration.
